🌼 Welcome to Himawari Clinic

We provide medical care in Kampo Internal Medicine, Allergy Care, and Otolaryngology (ENT).
Our goal is to offer careful, patient-centered treatment for people living in the local community.

The doctor can communicate in everyday English, and also speaks basic German.
Please speak slowly or use simple expressions if detailed explanations are needed.
You are also welcome to bring an interpreter.

🌿 Medical Services

◆ Kampo (Traditional Japanese Medicine)

We offer Kampo treatment tailored to your body type and symptoms.
Depending on the condition, treatment may be covered by Japanese health insurance,
or may require private (self-pay) consultation.

  • Body constitution assessment

  • Kampo formulas for chronic conditions

  • Support for fatigue, coldness, stress-related symptoms

  • Private Kampo consultation available upon request

◆ Allergy Care

We provide treatment for common allergic conditions such as:

  • Seasonal allergies (hay fever)

  • Chronic rhinitis

  • Skin allergy symptoms

  • Medication allergy *(Please note: severe drug allergy cases may need hospital care.)

Insurance coverage applies only when symptoms are present,
and long-term preventive prescriptions may not be allowed by Japanese health insurance rules.

◆ ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat)

We provide general ENT care, including:

  • Sore throat

  • Nasal congestion

  • Allergic rhinitis

  • Ear discomfort, hearing issues

  • Dizziness and vertigo assessment

For emergency or advanced ENT treatment, we may refer you to a specialized hospital.

😴 Snoring & Sleep Apnea (OSA) Care

We perform screening tests for snoring and suspected sleep apnea.
If you are diagnosed with OSA, CPAP therapy using a modern device is available.
(Insurance coverage requires examination and documentation according to Japanese rules.)

💬 Private (Self-Pay) Services

Some consultations are outside the scope of Japanese health insurance, such as:

  • Health counseling

  • Stress-related symptoms

  • Body constitution consultation

  • Kampo consultation for conditions not covered by insurance

  • “General check-up only” visits

  • Requests without medical necessity

Fees (example)

  • Reservation fee: 500 yen

  • Initial private consultation: 6,000 yen

  • Follow-up private consultation: 3,000 yen
    (Medication cost not included)

Private services are appointment-only, and the reservation fee is required at the time of booking.
The reservation fee is non-refundable.

📝 About Insurance (Important)

Japanese National Health Insurance covers medical treatment only,
not preventive or non-medical requests.

Examples that may NOT be covered:

  • Kampo prescribed only for body constitution

  • Allergy medicine for prevention before symptoms appear

  • Visits only to obtain a certificate

  • Second consultation on the same day for the same condition

Please bring your health

insurance card at every visit.

❌ Services Not Provided

We do not provide the following services:

  • Prescription of any psychotropic medications, including sleeping pills

  • Diagnosis or treatment of nasal bone fractures or other sports-related injuries

  • Removal of laryngeal foreign bodies
    (flexible endoscopes with forceps are not available)

  • Hearing aid fitting, adjustment, or instruction

  • Speech discrimination testing for elderly patients

※ When necessary, we can refer you to another medical facility (a referral fee applies).

🌡️ For Patients With Fever

To prevent the spread of infection, patients with fever are not allowed to enter the building.
Examinations will be conducted in your car or outside the building.

🚗 Drive-Through Consultation Available

Patients with fever or cold symptoms can receive medical care without leaving their car.

Please bring the following:

  • My Number Card

  • Any public medical assistance certificates
    (Child Medical Certificate, Single-Parent Assistance, etc.)

🏥 Treatments Provided at Our Clinic

  • Kampo (Japanese herbal medicine) treatment for fever

  • Examination and treatment for allergy symptoms

  • Testing and treatment for sleep apnea

  • Removal of pharyngeal foreign bodies (within the safe range of procedures available)

  • AGA treatment (self-pay)

  • Kampo treatment (insurance and self-pay)

  • Self-pay stress clinic

  • Self-pay body constitution counseling

  • Drive-through examinations

💉 Vaccination Information

We currently do not provide the following vaccinations:

  • Influenza vaccine

  • COVID-19 vaccine

However, we do provide:

  • Testing for influenza and COVID-19

  • Treatment for fever, cough, and related symptoms

For vaccinations other than those listed above, please feel free to consult us.

💻 Online Consultation & Reservations

Online consultations are available for both first-time and follow-up visits;
however, this service is limited to patients who have previously visited our clinic in person.

Please make a reservation by phone or email.
(An additional communication fee of ¥1,000 is charged for every 30 minutes of online consultation.

There is no reservation fee for online consultations.)

Patients with reservations and online consultations will be given priority.

🌐 Online Medical Consultation via “curon” App

Our clinic provides online medical consultations using the curon smartphone application.
Please read the following important information before using this service.

❌ Telephone-based medical consultations have ended

The temporary “0410 COVID-19 special telephone consultation system” has been discontinued.
Online consultations are now available only through the curon app.

✅ For patients who wish to use online consultation

Please use the curon smartphone app.
※ The web (PC) version is not supported due to system instability.

  • App usage fee: ¥330 (tax included) is required.

📷 For patients with COVID-19 (positive test)

Our clinic is not included in government-funded COVID-19 medical coverage.
Therefore, free COVID-19 treatment is not available.

When using online consultation, please upload the following through the curon questionnaire:

  • Proof of positive COVID-19 test
    (photo or official notification)

  • Throat photo
    Open your mouth wide, stick out your tongue, say “Ahh,”
    and take a close-up photo using your smartphone.

  • COVID-19 vaccination history
    (number of doses, vaccine type, date of the last dose)

💰 Fees

Online Consultation Device/Communication Fee

  • ¥1,000 for consultations up to 30 minutes

  • + ¥1,000 for every additional 30 minutes

Shipping costs (if needed):

  • Mailing fee for receipts or prescriptions: ¥220

  • If you request in-clinic medications by mail:
    Kuroneko Compact box ¥70 + actual shipping cost

※ All shipping fees must be paid by the patient.

Only the My Number Card can be used for identity and insurance verification.
Health insurance card alone cannot be used for online consultation.

Please scan the My Number QR code shown in the curon app with your smartphone,
and agree to all required consent items as instructed.
Online consultation cannot be provided if consent is not completed.

A photo ID such as:

Only the following patients may book an online consultation:

✅ Patients who have previously visited our clinic in person
(including those counted as “new visits” in the system)
✅ Patients who are able to attend an in-person consultation if needed
and whose identity can be verified
✅ Patients who sign the initial questionnaire and treatment plan within the curon app

● Who Cannot Use Online Consultation

Online consultation cannot be booked by the following individuals:

🚫 Patients who have never visited our clinic in person
🚫 Patients who are unable to attend an in-person first visit
(those who request “online only” by phone or video)
🚫 Patients requesting online first-visit consultation under the COVID-19 temporary exception,
which has already ended

If anyone who meets the above conditions makes a reservation,
the appointment may automatically become invalid or be significantly delayed,
as in-person consultation will be prioritized.

● Regarding Reservation and Consent

Before receiving online medical care, you must understand and agree to the following,
and provide your electronic signature:

  • As a general rule, first visits require in-person consultation.

  • However, if safety can be confirmed based on medical checkup results or detailed questionnaires,
    the doctor may allow an online consultation for the first visit.

  • If the doctor determines that online consultation is not appropriate,
    your appointment will be changed to in-person consultation.

  • Online consultation is conducted based on the patient’s request,
    and will not be performed for the convenience of the physician or for research purposes.

● How to Complete the Consent Procedure

Patients who wish to receive online consultation must sign
the Treatment Plan included in the initial questionnaire of the curon app,
which will be regarded as formal consent.
